For my Flag Project, I decided to change the Columbus, Ohio flag. I chose this flag becasue my parents wer born there and I noticed it had a sew aspects that went against the ways of the flag rules, like how it has writing on their flag, as well as how complex it seemed to me. Both going against how a flag should not have its name or text on it, as well as kids having the ability to remeber the flag and draw it from memory. To me I thought it as to complex with the bird and ship, but which were very important in hte history of Columbus. Up above you can see my edited version of the flag, with a more simplistic version of the bird that I wished to elaborate a  little more on. I was going to add the stripes and stars back into the flag so the viewer can tell that the city was located in the United States, and when they saw the bird and ship, they could recognize it was Columbus. I was also thinking of implementing a ship into the top of the badge and possibely putting starts above it. The badge is for Route 71 that runs through Columbus, and the ship of course for Christopher Columbus.
